While natural gas is formed primarily of\u00a0methane, it often includes ethane, propane, butane, pentane and even higher molecular weight\u00a0hydrocarbons. It is important to be able to quantify the composition of various compounds present in the natural gas to determine the mixture of hydrocarbons in the gas in a rapid and cost-effective manner.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text-align-justify\">The ability to perform hundreds of chromatographic analyses per day also provides a cost-effective\u00a0solution to sample screening and process development in the laboratory. Whereas such projects can\u00a0take months using a conventional long-column GC, with\u00a0zNose\u00ae it is often possible to complete\u00a0development projects in less than a week.
